Trema

Trema can be placed on voyels: ä, ë, ü and ï.

It it used to indicate that voyels has to be pronounced separately.

On the « e » of:
- aiguë, ambiguë, exiguë, contiguë, canoë, Israël, Noël...

On the « i » of:
- haïr, maïs, ouïe, inouï, coïncider, coïnculper...
but : coincer...

On the « u » of:
- capharnaüm...
